We’re pretty open about loving our hometown of Milford, New Hampshire. Sure, it has more pizza joints, drug stores, and asian cuisine per capita than you can shake a stick at, if you were so inclined. We happen to like having a wide selection of crab rangoons, wood-fired pies, and options for wear we pick up a couple of grocery carts worth of toilet paper. We’d go as far as to say that most nearby towns aspire to have what Milford has.

But we happen to like having a wide selection of crab rangoons, wood-fired pies, and options for wear we pick up a couple of grocery carts worth of toilet paper. We’d go as far as to say that most nearby towns aspire to have what Milford has.

That’s why when a DPW truck drove by the café the other day, and we saw the logo on the door, our hearts swelled with pride. We thought to ourselves “Selves, wouldn’t it be great to be able to make a shirt with that same green crest—like it was a badge of honor? But maybe the crest on our shirt wouldn’t be exactly the same. Maybe we could take the spirit of that DPW graphic (which was almost certainly crafted with colored pencils by somebody’s aunt on a 1970s wood veneer dining table) and breathe a little life into it. And maybe we could make it, like, hip and minimal. You know, really JAZZ it up a little like graphic designers do. Now that would be cool.”

And so we did. And we screen-printed it on the finest Next Level 3600 Unisex tee we could find so anyone could wear it. And now you can buy it right off of our website and flaunt it for all your friends to see.

But when you pat yourself on the back and realize just how soft that favorite shirt is, and you think to yourself, “Self, I sure am glad I bought this soft tee shirt to show my town pride”, we’d just like to ask you to remember your humble, coffee shop. On that same day, go and buy some coffee from the people that wear the same shirt as you, instead of that orange and pink drive-thru joint or worse yet the one with the green mermaid on everything. Then, for just a quiet moment, all will be right with the world.
